The Film was created as a promotional piece for the Loring-Greenough House. The owners are making it into a hot spot in the Boston wedding events scene.
notloB Parlour Concert patrons have known it as an acoustic music "hotspot" since 2007.

Carrying on for Billie Hockett
Billie Hockett was a mainstay of the Boston-area Celtic community. I had the pleasure of assisting her with several Music for Robin concerts she produced at the Emerson Umbrella in Concord and St. John's Methodist Church in Watertown. She was probably best known to many for her untiring work producing a weekly events listing (the 2/22/10 edition is reproduced below).
Billie passed November 7, 2011 but lives on in our hearts and music and, for some 350 of us, in Celtic Music in New England, created September 27, 2011 and, upon her passing, dedicated to her memory. I like to think when we share concert and other Celtic news we are carrying on collectively as Billie would expect.
An chuid eile i Síochána, Billie.

The reason for starting this group is to continue, in a small way, the work of Billie Hockett.
The following was published in Celtic Music in New England
For those of you who do not know her, Billie had been the long time leader of Robin Blecher Celtic Arts, Inc. a.k.a. Music for Robin - http://music-for-robin.org/, producing Celtic concerts at the Emerson Umbrella and St. John's Church in Watertown, as well as publishing a weekly Celtic happenings list.

=======================
from Tom Blecher (Billie's son) 6/16/11
Please feel free to disseminate this email.
Billie came to Ithaca a few months ago to be with me and my wife. She had several medical issues when she came and felt unable to take care of her home, unable to drive, and felt somewhat isolated because of this. She no longer had the stamina to produce concerts, or attend concerts. Prior to coming to Ithaca, however, she was functional as she walked some, went shopping with others and could keep in touch with friends via computer and phone.
About two weeks ago she was rushed to the hospital with a pulse of 33 and dangerously low blood pressure. A pacemaker was installed but she subsequently developed a severe case of congestive heart failure, kidney failure, and pulmonary hypertension. She is now in hospice and her doctor does not expect her to live beyond this year but she could pass much much sooner. Unfortunately, her physical condition deteriorates noticeably each day. She has accepted her fate and we often reminisces about her conflict calendar, her Music For Robin Concert series, and her friends in the Boston area. This always brings a smile to her face.
Unfortunately she is too weak to receive lots of phone calls as she becomes winded if she talks for a long time. She does like to speak with her friends, however. If anyone would like to speak with Billie, they can email me their name and number and I will pass this on to her. She will call if she has the stamina. She loves to get cards and letters and this would be a great comfort to her if folks would write or email. Email might be better as I do not know how much time she has. People can email her through me (tomblecher@...). I will read the emails to Billie and will send anyone who emails updates on her condition and any messages she wishes to relay. Flowers are good too and can be sent to Billie Hockett, Oak Hill Manor, 602 Hudson Street, Ithaca, NY 14850. [ Deb note: Tom said you can send cards and letters to that address as well, if you'd prefer instead of email.]
Billie has been talking with Dana Westover about taking over the Music for Robin concert series. He and Frankie Lieberman will be renaming the series Music For Billie and will be staging concerts in the Boston area in the future.
Both Billie and I know that she was loved by many and we feel blessed that she had so many friends.
Tom Blecher (Billie's son)
Paul Harty Billie certainly contributed greatly to the Boston folk scene for as long as I can remember.
Sean Smith I was fortunate enough to also have known Robin. They both did wonderful things for folk music in this area.
Gary Edward Hudson I spent many happy hours with her at her place in Lexington and used to help with the Battlefield Band Concerts.
Louanne Dunphy Prayers and good thoughts go out to Billie during this trying time. Many thanks for her contribution to the Celtic music community. Her efforts were huge In Peace, DJLouise, Celtic Crossings
