Folk-related Festivals in the Greater Northeast, October and November

Summer may be over, but there are plenty of October folk, bluegrass, Celtic music and dance festivals in the northeast USA and adjacent Canadian provinces.

The database, updated 2-3x/ month, lists close to 200 NE festivals and camps. Please send comments and corrections by email to NEFolk-owner@
yahoogroups.com

All festivals/camps with dates contain current year information; "99" in the day field indicates either no information could be found or the producer has yet to submit to NEFolk current year information.
Please encourage festival and camp producers/publicists to share information via email to NEFolk@yahoogroups.com; one of the moderators will update the database.
The table was developed over several years by J. Boudreau and cannot be used for commercial or other purposes without permission.

10/99/1210/99/12Irish Heritage Festivalhttp://www.irishheritagefestival.com/index.htmlCelticDorchester, MA(12391)On hiatus / Statement from co-organizer John O'Toole posted on the festival's Facebook page: For 3 years the Irish Heritage Festival has been the host to thousands of people who have enjoyed the best in Irish Entertainment and Culture. We have been blessed with spectacular weather and wonderful crowds. It highlights the best that Dorchester has to offer to people all over New England. The Festival is a free event that is an enormous undertaking that costs upwards of $40,000.00 to pay for entertainment, 3 stages, lighting ,police details, permits, etc,etc.. The work is done by a very small group of volunteers. As you know, economically, it has been a very difficult year for many families and businesses, and we depend on the generosity of our donors to make the Festival a success. We are extremely grateful to those folks, businesses and our trade unions who helped make it a huge success for the past 3 years. The Festival Committee has decided to give a financial break to those who make the Festival possible and have already planning next years Festival. Many, many, thanks to all those who have volunteered in the past and I look forward to welcoming new volunteers for next years Festival! Thanks John OToole
